To our wonderful community of believers, half-believers, and unbelievers,
“What are you seeking?”
We, like many before us, have our reasons for seeking Jesus. At times, we seek him with all our passion and curiosity. Other times, we reluctantly show up to see if he can even be bothered to notice us. Sometimes we seek out comfort from Jesus, and at other times confrontation with him. We share the same confusing mix of motives that are common to all people, going back for centuries.
Wherever you find yourself today,
Confident or confused…
Elated or exhausted…
Loved or lonely…
Amiable or angry…
Adventurous or afraid…
Jesus is there, asking “What do you seek?”
This week, spend a moment each day with the prayer:
“God, I am seeking you. Help me find you.”
Jesus meets us where we are, with the invitation, “Come and see.”
He met with politicians, laborers, religious leaders, outcasts, and many more. This invitation is not only for the “holy” and “righteous.” It’s for you, as you are right now.
May God open your eyes to see him as you seek him out.
