My dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
As the season of Easter comes to an end, and the season of Pentecost begins, let us remember the gifts of peace and love given to us by Christ. Just as the disciples of Jesus were told in His final days on Earth to go and spread the gospel to all nations, we are called to be brave and bold in speaking about our faith. Jesus’s light is not one meant to be contained, but spread for all the world to see. You and I have seen this world. It is broken and beaten and in ruins, but it is never beyond repair. On Pentecost, Jesus created a new hope and a new mission for His church, to spread the story of His birth, death, and resurrection, that all the Earth might know him.
He has invited every one of us to live in His peace, and Pentecost stands as a reminder that no matter where we are, He is always with us. His presence surrounds us, His mercy fills us, and His light shines through us.
All are welcome to join in song, prayer, and meditation as we gather together on our journey towards Christ, as “Pilgrims of Hope and Pilgrims of Peace.” The service is May 31 at San Gabriel Presbyterian Church, 5404 Williams Drive, Georgetown.
