July, 2020 Prayer Letter

Future Uncertain

Please Pray …

Ecclesiastes 3:1 “For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven…”

Dear Friends of the Wholeness Services,

We are all in an odd season in life … one not predicted or expected … one that remains constantly open to the great unknown future in a whole new sense of the meaning.  In this odd time of having one foot in the old life and the other in a new realm, we find we must adapt and make changes.  So, it is with the Wholeness Services.  Who would have imagined that our service on February 23rd would be our last in person service for the foreseeable future … possibly the last of its kind!

Thanks to the enormous efforts of Ginger Mann, we made a virtual presence in March, April, and May, the last two services occurring real time on both YouTube and Facebook, sites Ginger created.

We want to continue but that means in new ways requiring volunteers we have never used before.  Below is an excerpt from Ginger’s analysis.

If we wish to move forward with the next season, we will need more help.  Just like we need communion servers, ushers, and candle lighters for our in-person meetings, we now need video producers and online communication specialists for our virtual services.  The way I gauge the workload, we can do this with two or more people: one person to own and manage video production and one to own and manage the website and social media.

So now it is up to the Spirit and to you, the community of faith.  Who among you has talents or willingness or connections? – All gifts given by the Holy Spirit! (Incidentally, our planned theme for 2020-2021 is focused on the fruit of the Holy Spirit.)

We ask that you please pray:

  • that God be glorified regardless of what happens in our future and give God thanks for the blessings of our past.
  • Then pray for guidance of the leadership and the emergence of needed volunteers.
  • We need to trust and believe, where belief is an active verb. Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not to your own understanding.  In all your ways acknowledge Him and He will make your paths straight (Proverbs 3:5-6).
  • The Spirit is at work among us! I do not think the Spirit is done yet, and we certainly need the worship, encouragement, beauty, and healing the services bring.
  • Finally, please pray for the world and all living creatures … pray for the healing and stability of the world … pray for mercy and kindness.

God bless you, heal you, and keep you!
