Dear Sisters and Brothers in Christ,
We meet this season to explore our hope beyond hope in Christ.
As we celebrate All Saints Day, we are reminded that we are surrounded by a great cloud of witnesses, those whose faith has been made complete in the joy of the everlasting presence of Christ. Let us remember that we are, here and now, also in the presence of Christ and that we may live with hope, confident that He will keep all of His promises.
It is my deepest hope that we will put aside our anxieties and fears and find peace in Christ now, without feeling the need to wait for peace beyond death.
May we continue to lift each other up in prayer. We pray for healing, for resilience, for grace in the face of adversity, for joy and gratitude, reminded of God’s goodness and faithfulness. We pray for the reconciliation of the world and the peace only Jesus can bring. We remain grateful for the Communion of the Saints, those still with us and those who have gone before and set an example for us. We have abundant praise to give.
Please join us at San Gabriel on Nov. 2 at 6:30. If the weather permits, we will meet in the columbarium on the East side of the church. Luminaires will be placed in remembrance of those family members who have already joined the cloud of witnesses. This will be a beautiful evening to share in prayer and worship.
Love in Christ,
Sean Mann
