“Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness’ sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.” –Matthew 5:10
Persecution as a blessing is odd! Jesus seems to speak to the disciples in the last two beatitudes when He blesses those who are persecuted and those who suffer for His sake. Yet nearly everyone is persecuted occasionally. Martyrdom is a separate category!
So what do we learn from persecution?
On April 23, I will offer a meditation that delves more deeply in what it means to be persecuted.
