October, 2018 Prayer letter

Dear Friends of the Wholeness Service,

Our opening Sunday of the season, September 23rd, was a joyful occasion.  It is always wonderful to be together praising God and affirming and acting on our faith, as we seek communion with God and one another. But the first service each year is particularly satisfying after 3 months of abstinence.  Thank you for your prayers, and for those who were able to be with us, for your presence.

Our theme of Hospitality and the Healing Hearth was introduced by Rev. Dr. Martha Bessac as she focused on Welcoming.  Ginger Mann and the Little Choir led us in familiar beloved Taize songs like Raise a Song of Gladness, Come Holy Spirit, and Sing Out My Soul, as well as introducing new ones like Peace I Leave.   It is our hope and prayer that the healing and wholeness experienced that night continues to sustain and grow in each of us.

Our next service is Sunday October 28th at 6:30 pm. Rev. Dr. Ann Hagmann will bring the focus and message on the Heart-Centered aspect of Hospitality.  We will again be blest with candles, numerous prayer opportunities, silence, heart opening music, and the presence of the Holy Spirit.

We have made several minor adjustments to the service to take advantage of our space and spread out the candle and communion stations.  Please pray for our wisdom in these areas.

We were fortunate to have two new wonderful volunteers come on board, but we can certainly use more.  Please pray that the Spirit may touch others to join in, and that all of us who help with the services will continue to be blest just being a part of them.  Please continue to keep all the leadership in your prayers.

As with any move of the Spirit, there can be spiritual resistance and warfare.  As a part of your prayers for the Wholeness Services and the healing and wholeness offered by God to us through them, please pray Ephesians 6:10-18 that we are “strong in the Lord and in the strength of His power,” as we put on the “whole armor of God” and “stand firm.” The armor includes the belt of truth, the breastplate of righteousness, shoes to preach the gospel of peace, the shield of faith, the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit.  We are admonished to “pray in the Spirit at all times in every prayer and supplication.”

We are grateful to you for your interest and prayers.  Please let others know of this wholeness opportunity for uplifting spiritual services.  God bless each of you and may you enjoy this beautiful Fall.
