Virtual Services

While the world shut down to deal with COVID, friends of the Wholeness Service continued to gather and pray, any way they could.

A way to keep Praying

Immediately following the COVID lockdown in March, 2020, the Wholeness Service was faced with a difficult choice: continue to lead prayer or shut down. We chose to continue. Our decision resulted in a series of virtual events on our YouTube and Facebook channels, which we’ve linked here for easy access.

Loving God, 2019-20

Our 2019-20 series was titled, “Loving God: Finding the Sacred in the Ordinary.” Learning as we went along, we produced our final three services online. Except for the first (“Desert Time”), content was pre-recorded, and meant as an asynchronous guide to remote worship.

As the season came to a close, many of our friends began to join us in real time on Facebook and YouTube at each new premiere. We enjoyed their chat and company there. It was a strange but interesting way to connect.

The Fruits of the Spirit, 2020-2021

During 2020-2021, while the world dealt with the Covid pandemic, we kept our promise to provide candlelight, contemplative prayer. Our series, “The Fruits of the Spirit,” was presented via Zoom. Many of our congregation signed in to join, many others joined asynchronously when they were released later on video.

We learned to produce recordings of our voices and instruments for use in Zoom gatherings and how to curate a Zoom recording for public release. The results are not perfect, but they are “us.”

All of these events are preserved on our YouTube and Facebook channels, and they will stay there for anyone who needs them.

Thanks to every person involved, especially the ones who prayed alongside us during the pandemic.
