Dear Friends of the Wholeness Service,
With slight hesitation, due to our crazy weather, I bring you Spring greetings! It’s hard to believe our actual first day of Spring is next week. May our souls drink deeply from the revitalization and renewal awakening around us! God’s message of rebirth is resounding!
Our February service and meditation presented the idea that prayer is the oxygen of our spiritual life. Prayer being a broad term that at its base level is attentiveness to God and to life. We were moved by beautiful music, candle lighting, prayers including silence, and communion. Your prayers for the continued touch of the Holy Spirit’s life in everyone who was there is appreciated.
Much has happened since that service. With joy we tell you that the Spirit has provided two new people to help with the services, Rev. Brian Mullaney and his wife Katey, who also has a seminary degree and is licensed by the Baptist Church. They will join in prayers in April and will be active participants next season.
Speaking of the new season, 2019-2020, we had a meeting March 11 and are developing our plan for next year. Your prayers are appreciated as we discern where the Spirit would lead us.
We have a special guest preacher, Rev. Steve Buchele, at our March service. Steve helped lead the services for 4 years. He and his wife Suzanne will be in town in March, and Rev. Dr. Ann is thrilled to share a service with him again.
Please note – after the April 28th’s service, we will be hosting a reception downstairs in the Fellowship Hall. It is an opportunity to visit with singers, musicians, other leaders and each other. An elevator is available. We hope you will plan to attend.
A final word before closing. We know that the service has not “settled in” yet. We still have not found the lighting niche. We ask for your patience and prayers, as we continue to seek it. Gradually over the next few months we are going to make adjustments within the sanctuary in hopes of bringing the music leaders and the congregation closer together so that we can easily pray together in song. The move will help restore some of the intimacy lost in our large space.
Much is going on! We are most grateful for your ongoing prayers of guidance and inspiration, encouragement and hope for all these different areas and all who volunteer or participate. Bless you.
Our next service is Sunday March 24th at 6:30 pm at First United Methodist Church. We hope to see you there! Please continue to keep all the leadership and participants in your prayers. And please let others know about our wholeness service opportunity. We are grateful to you for your interest, prayers, and participation.
In Christ’s love,
Rev Dr Ann Hagmann
