DESCRIPTION:Join us online on September 27 for our first congregational prayer gathering by Zoom! \nWe are excited for the opportunity to be with you again. In the gathering\, you will have an opportunity to: \n§ light your own candles at home to reflect your prayers; \n§ send personal prayer requests via chat to have them lifted-up during the intercessory prayer; \n§ observe 3 minutes of silence together. (Don’t worry\, our centering prayer group does 20 minutes together on Zoom in silence each week.) \nBe sure to check us out on YouTube and Facebook as different new things are posted there during the month as they become available. I will be putting out a meditation this month on Abiding in Love: What Makes the Spirit Flow. \nThe link for the September 27th Wholeness Prayer Gathering Zoom is listed below. \nSeptember Zoom Prayer Gathering\nClick to join \n  \nHOW TO JOIN:\nConnect by clicking the link above at 6:15 pm on September 27. You will be placed in our waiting room. At first your Zoom window may not fill your whole screen. Click on the Square at the top right of the Zoom window to expand it. Your microphone will be muted\, as you may see by the microphone image in the bottom left. You may unmute by pressing the space bar when you wish to share. Ginger Mann is our stage manager. She will switch from a gallery view with all participants showing to another view for presentations. SUMMARY:May 31\, 2020: Answering God's Call
DESCRIPTION:The Georgetown Ecumenical Wholeness Service continues its 2019-2020 season\, with its ninth and final service on May 31: Answering God’s Call. Due to social distancing restrictions currently in place to slow the spread of COVID-19\, we will once again gather virtually. This service will be premiered at 6:15 pm Sunday\, May 31 on our new YouTube Channel\, and simulcast live to our Facebook Page. \nThe live gathering of our community will be hosted via Facebook\, like it was on April 26\, 2020. We experienced a surprising sense of community with our Facebook gathering last time\, and we will offer the same experience this month. SUMMARY:Sep 22\, 2019: Choosing God
DESCRIPTION:The Georgetown Ecumenical Wholeness Service starts a new season in 2019-2020\, with the first service on September 22: Choosing God. We will continue to gather at\, First United Methodist Church\, Georgetown\, Texas. Open to the public\, childcare provided. \nAs before\, we will pray together by combining two very special types of worship services: the Service of Healing and Wholeness and Taizé Common Prayers. We are a diverse community of area Christians\, and these services are open to all who would come. Songs are sung from the Community of Taizé. Opportunities are given for intercessory prayer and the lighting of candles. A time is set aside for anointing by ministers. Open Communion is served. \nAbout the meditations: Our subject for the coming season is\, “Loving God: Finding the Sacred in the Ordinary.” Brief homilies will be prepared by area ministers\, and guided by a senior pastor. Scripture will be selected for meditation based on each topic. 2019-2020 topics are: \n\n\n\nSeptember 22\nChoosing God\n\n\nOctober 27\nChanging Seasons\n\n\nNovember 24\nSharing God\n\n\nDecember 8\nGod With Us\n\n\nJanuary 26\nRenewal\n\n\nFebruary 23\nRelationships\n\n\nMarch 22\nDesert Time\n\n\nApril 26\nForgiveness & Grace\n\n\nMay 24\nAnswering God’s Call\n\n\n\nAbout the songs: Taizé Prayer chants are congregational\, made of short phrases that are repeated for ease of participation. In our services\, we always sing in English\, but for an idea of how the songs sound\, please enjoy this playlist of all of the songs we like to use. \n\n\n\nWe hope to see you\, our friends and neighbors\, in 2019-2020.

SUMMARY:Aug 25\, 2019: Taizé Prayer and Songlearning Service
DESCRIPTION:Gather with Georgetown area neighbors in a beautiful West Side sanctuary for an evening of Taizé prayer. Wellspring United Methodist Church and the Georgetown Ecumenical Wholeness Service are hosting Taizé Common Prayers on August 25th. \nWhy would we gather a month ahead of the start of our next season? Aside from missing that hour alone with God\, we thought it would be good to learn the songs we will all sing together in 2019-2020. \nThese 27 songs will be used for our coming season: Taizé Songs\, 2019-2020 (Click)  Although we will gather for 2 hours\, there will be a graceful way to exit after an hour. If you can join us for the entire evening\, you’ll hear all of the year’s Taizé songs. If you can join only for an hour\, we look forward to praying with you. \nEcumenical Wholeness is an intersection of a Service of Healing and Wholeness and Taizé Common Prayers. However\, on this night\, we will practice Taizé Prayers only. Scripture\, silence\, and opportunities to pray privately will be part of the evening\, as we direct our focus to God alone. \nWe hope you will join us and spend a little time surrounded by light\, song\, and the beauty of nature through Wellspring’s wall of windows.
