SUMMARY:Pilgrims of Hope / Pilgrims of Peace\, May 31\, 2026
DESCRIPTION:We conclude our 2025-26 season with the dual topic\, “Pilgrims of Hope / Pilgrims of Peace.” The season concludes with a meditation by youth cantor and speaker\, Jayden Mann.\nThe Georgetown Ecumenical Wholeness Service is a candlelight\, contemplative prayer service that meets once per month. All services are open to the public. We pray together by using two very special types of worship templates: the Service of Healing and Wholeness and Taizé Common Prayers. We are led by a diverse community of area Christians\, and these services are open to all who would come. Songs are sung from the Community of Taizé. Opportunities are given for intercessory prayer and the lighting of candles. A time is set aside for private prayer and anointing with oil. Communion is offered to all in attendance\, with gluten-free elements available. About the meditations: Our subject for the coming season is “Hope Beyond All Hope.” It is based on the Taizé theme for 2025\, “Esperer au Dela de Toute Esperance\,” which considers perseverance and faith even in the worst of times. Brief homilies will be prepared by area pastors and lay speakers. Scripture will be selected for meditation based on each topic. Events this season: Services will continue to take place one Sunday per month at 6:30 pm\, with some noted exceptions (*) around holidays in the November / December months. Meetings take place on these dates and in these locations: \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nDate\nTopic\nSite\n\n\n\n\nSeptember 28\nCourage to Hope\nSan Gabriel Presbyterian Church\n\n\nNovember 2 *\nListening to People of Hope / Celebration of Saints\nSan Gabriel Presbyterian Church\n\n\nNovember 23 *\nTaizé Evening Prayers\nSt. Joseph’s Episcopal Church (Salado)\n\n\nDecember 21 *\nStriving for Hope / Christmas by Candlelight\nSan Gabriel Presbyterian Church\n\n\nFebruary 22\nRemaining People of Hope\nSan Gabriel Presbyterian Church\n\n\nMarch 29\nEaster Hope\nSan Gabriel Presbyterian Church\n\n\nApril 26\nTaizé Evening Prayers\nSt. Joseph’s Episcopal Church (Salado)\n\n\nMay 3*\nTaizé Evening Prayers * Rescheduled from January 25\nSt. Philip’s United Methodist (Round Rock)\n\n\nMay 31\nPilgrims of Hope / Pilgrims of Peace\nSan Gabriel Presbyterian Church\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout the songs: Taizé Prayer chants are congregational\, made of short phrases that are repeated for ease of participation. SUMMARY:Listening to People of Hope / Celebration of the Saints\, November 2\, 2025
DESCRIPTION:In this All Saints Sunday service\, we focus on listening to hopeful stories as we bring back our popular celebration of Saints with a luminaria display at San Gabriel Presbyterian Church. Meditation will be spoken by Sean Mann. Non-perishable food will be collected on this evening for Helping Hands of Georgetown\, Texas\, as well as cash donations to fill their food pantry.  \n \nFor the first time since 2020\, our celebration of Saints will take place during our Wholeness Service. This year\, we plan to worship outdoors in the columbarium of Partner Church San Gabriel Presbyterian Church. The lanterns are both prepared and funded by the Wholeness Community\, as a gift to the Georgetown\, Texas area. Click this link to turn in name(s) for remembrance by October 30 if you wish to participate.  \nThe Georgetown Ecumenical Wholeness Service is a candlelight\, contemplative prayer service that meets once per month. Joseph’s Episcopal Church (Salado)\n\n\nDecember 21 *\nStriving for Hope / Christmas by Candlelight\nSan Gabriel Presbyterian Church\n\n\nJanuary 25\nTaizé Evening Prayers\nSt. Philip’s Methodist Church (Round Rock)\n\n\nFebruary 22\nRemaining People of Hope\nSan Gabriel Presbyterian Church\n\n\nMarch 29\nEaster Hope\nSan Gabriel Presbyterian Church\n\n\nApril 26\nTaizé Evening Prayers\nSt. Joseph’s Episcopal Church (Salado)\n\n\nMay 31\nPilgrims of Hope / Pilgrims of Peace\nSan Gabriel Presbyterian Church\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout the songs: Taizé Prayer chants are congregational\, made of short phrases that are repeated for ease of participation. SUMMARY:Taizé Evening Prayers in Salado
DESCRIPTION:The Georgetown Ecumenical Wholeness Service is delighted to travel back to our partner\, St. Joseph’s Epicopal Church\, Salado\, Texas for another evening of Taizé Prayer at 6:30 pm\, January 12\, 2025. Led by an interdenominational worship team based in the Georgetown\, Texas area\, the Wholeness Service partners with churches all over the Central Texas area. Each service creates several unique opportunities for contemplative worship\, including Taizé meditations. For this\, we find St. Joseph’s iconic chapel to be ideal.\n\nOn this night\, we will continue to celebrate the new year as we meditate on thematic scriptures from our current season of “Courage.” With music under the direction of Ginger Mann and pastoral leadership by Rev. Vicki Joy McClure and Vicar Lynn Osgood (both St. Joseph’s)\, the Wholeness Worship team will fill St. Joseph’s with candlelight\, scripture\, and song. Worshipers are invited to sing along with the haunting tunes of early Christianity\, ornamented by vocal and instrumental solos. Songs will be sung in English with some in Spanish. SUMMARY:Taizé Evening Prayers in Salado
DESCRIPTION:The Georgetown Ecumenical Wholeness Service is delighted to partner with St. Joseph’s Epicopal Church\, Salado\, Texas for an evening of Taizé Prayers at 6:30 pm\, August 25\, 2024. Led by an interdemoninational worship team based in the Georgetown\, Texas area\, the Wholeness Service partners with churches all over the Central Texas area. Each service of Wholeness creates several unique opportunities for contemplative worship\, including Taizé Prayers. On August 25\, the Wholeness Service will present Taizé prayers to the community of Salado in the chapel of their Partner\, St. Joseph’s Episcopal Church.\n\nThis event launches a new season for the Wholeness Service on the theme of “Courage.” With music and pastoral leadership under the direction of Ginger and Sean Mann and Karen Strange\, and with the help of St. Joseph’s members Vicki Joy and Jeff McClure\, the Wholeness Worship team will fill the beautiful chapel with candlelight\, scripture\, and song. They will first dim the lights and allow the congregation to focus on the sounds of a classical and Taizé-inspired prelude. Worshipers are then invited to sing along with the haunting tunes of early Christian chant\, ornamented by the voices of Karen Strange (soprano) and Jayden Mann (youth cantor). Cellist Beverly Harrison will join Ginger Mann (flute) to ornament congregational music with instrumental solos. Songs will be sung in English with some in Spanish\, and the Word spoken and sung in both languages. \n\nSean and Ginger Mann completed their pilgrimage to Taizé\, France in July\, 2017\, and spent several years under the mentorship of the Taizé Community. With the help of their friends overseas\, they brought the art and craft of Taizé songs and prayers home to Central Texas. Taizé plays a central role in each Service of Wholeness\, The Wholeness Service looks forward to the candlelight intimacy of Taizé Prayer on August 25\, with our friends in Salado\, Texas\, as we kick off our new season for 2024-2025.\n\nService Time: 6:30 pm\nPrelude: 6:20 (Prelude)\nEarly Q&A\, Taizé Prayer: 6:00 pm

SUMMARY:Believing in Peace\, March 24\, 2024
DESCRIPTION:The Georgetown Ecumenical Wholeness Service is a candlelight\, contemplative prayer service that meets onsite monthly at any of its Williamson County partner churches. This season\, we meet at San Gabriel Presbyterian Church\, Georgetown Texas with meditations centered around the topic “Pursuing Peace.” All services are open to the public. \nWe will pray together by combining two very special types of worship services: the Service of Healing and Wholeness and Taizé Common Prayers. We are a diverse community of area Christians\, and these services are open to all who would come. Songs are sung from the Community of Taizé. Opportunities are given for intercessory prayer and the lighting of candles. A time is set aside for anointing by ministers. Communion is offered to all in attendance\, with pre-packaged and gluten-free elements available. \nAbout the meditations: Our subject for the coming season is “Pursuing Peace.” Brief homilies will be prepared by area ministers\, and guided by a senior pastor. Scripture will be selected for meditation based on each topic. 2023-2024 topics are: \n\n\n\nSeptember 24\nLove Your Neighbor\n\n\n\nOctober 22\n Be Not Afraid\n\n\n\nNovember 19\nFrom Anger to Peace\n\n\n\nDecember 17\nPeace for All\n\n\n\nJanuary 28\nPeace Within\n\n\n\nFebruary 25\nForgiving Peace\n\n\n\nMarch 24\nBelieving in Peace\n\n\n\nApril 28\nPower of Peace\n\n\n\nMay 26\nResponsible Peace\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout the songs: Taizé Prayer chants are congregational\, made of short phrases that are repeated for ease of participation. In our services\, we always sing in English\, but for an idea of how the songs sound\, please enjoy this YouTube playlist. \n\n\n\nAbout COVID-19 and safety: All are welcome at the Georgetown Ecumenical Wholeness Service. While COVID continues to challenge us\, we will provide for in-person worship with a well-ventilated\, flexible space where social distancing and close seating are both possible. For those in quarantine\, livestream worship is available. \nWe hope to see you\, our friends and neighbors\, in 2023-2024.
