SUMMARY:All Saints' Vigil: November 1\, 2023
DESCRIPTION:For the fourth year since the Covid Pandemic\, the Georgetown Ecumenical Wholeness Service remembers the saints of our community with candlelight vigil. Names contributed by Georgetown area residents are made into candlelight luminaries and presented at the columbarium of San Gabriel Presbyterian Church\, Georgetown\, Texas. The music of Taizé will surround the columbarium from sunset until 8:00 pm\, and outdoor seating will be provided. Members of the worship team will pray for your family during the observance and extra candles will also be provided for additional remembrances. \nPlease note that this is a come and go outdoor observance.

SUMMARY:From Anger to Peace\, November 19\, 2023
DESCRIPTION:The Georgetown Ecumenical Wholeness Service is a candlelight\, contemplative prayer service that meets onsite monthly at any of its Williamson County partner churches. This season\, we meet at San Gabriel Presbyterian Church\, Georgetown Texas with meditations centered around the topic “Pursuing Peace.” All services are open to the public. \nWe will pray together by combining two very special types of worship services: the Service of Healing and Wholeness and Taizé Common Prayers. We are a diverse community of area Christians\, and these services are open to all who would come. Songs are sung from the Community of Taizé. Opportunities are given for intercessory prayer and the lighting of candles. A time is set aside for anointing by ministers. Communion is offered to all in attendance\, with pre-packaged and gluten-free elements available. \nAbout the meditations: Our subject for the coming season is “Pursuing Peace.” Brief homilies will be prepared by area ministers\, and guided by a senior pastor. In our services\, we always sing in English\, but for an idea of how the songs sound\, please enjoy this YouTube playlist. \n\n\n\nAbout COVID-19 and safety: All are welcome at the Georgetown Ecumenical Wholeness Service. While COVID continues to challenge us\, we will provide for in-person worship with a well-ventilated\, flexible space where social distancing and close seating are both possible. For those in quarantine\, livestream worship is available. \nWe hope to see you\, our friends and neighbors\, in 2023-2024.
