DESCRIPTION:The Georgetown Ecumenical Wholeness Service continues its 2019-2020 season\, with its fifth service on January 26: Renewal. We will continue to gather at\, First United Methodist Church\, Georgetown\, Texas. Open to the public\, childcare provided. \nAs before\, we will pray together by combining two very special types of worship services: the Service of Healing and Wholeness and Taizé Common Prayers. We are a diverse community of area Christians\, and these services are open to all who would come. Songs are sung from the Community of Taizé. Opportunities are given for intercessory prayer and the lighting of candles. A time is set aside for anointing by ministers. Open Communion is served. \nAbout the songs: Taizé Prayer chants are congregational\, made of short phrases that are repeated for ease of participation. Here are our songs for January: \n\n\n\nAbout the meditations: Our subject for the coming season is\, “Loving God: Finding the Sacred in the Ordinary.” Brief homilies will be prepared by area ministers\, and guided by a senior pastor. DESCRIPTION:The Georgetown Ecumenical Wholeness Service continues in-person services in 2021-2022\, with its sixth gathering on February 27\, 2022. This season\, we will meet at San Gabriel Presbyterian Church\, Georgetown Texas. All services are open to the public. \nAs before\, we will pray together by combining two very special types of worship services: the Service of Healing and Wholeness and Taizé Common Prayers. We are a diverse community of area Christians\, and these services are open to all who would come. Songs are sung from the Community of Taizé. Opportunities are given for intercessory prayer and the lighting of candles. A time is set aside for anointing by ministers. Communion is offered to all in attendance\, with pre-packaged and gluten-free elements available. \nAbout the meditations: Our subject for the coming season is\, “The Lord’s Prayer.” Brief homilies will be prepared by area ministers\, and guided by a senior pastor.
