Prayer Letter for December 2024

This month we explore “Courage to Love.”  Wow, what a challenge!  Since I’m not an ordained minister or preacher, instead of a “meditation,” I would like to offer some “reflections” to contemplate.

Perhaps definitions for “Courage” and “Love” in this context will help.  I see “Courage,” as “Strength in the face of difficulty,” and “Love” as “Commitment to work for the good of others.”  None of us would question God’s strength, nor His commitment to work for our good.  But, what of OUR strength; what of OUR commitment?  During this time of reflection, we will explore these questions.

My hope is that by sharing some practices learned over the past years from reading, from encountering others who have chosen this journey of learning to love, and most of all by experiencing the grace of God, we may each gain some nourishment, each in our own journey.

I very much look forward to this time together in this season of giving, and since I’m a huge fan of Tiny Tim from Dicken’s “A Christmas Carol,” let me say, with Tim:

God Bless you, your families, all you hold dear, and

God Bless Us All-Every One!
