FORGIVING PEACE: SECOND IN-PERSON GATHERING of 2024: FEBRUARY 25, 6:30 PM
“Father, may they be forgiven, for they know not what they do.” -Luke 23:34
Dear all on the journey:
February is going so fast, it seems all the months fly by. Ash Wednesday falls on Valentine’s Day this year. Let us focus and love every day on our journey during Lent, when traditionally we Christians give up luxuries in honor of Christ’s sacrifice. In His earthly life Jesus faced extreme betrayal; and yet, he forgave and even interceded for those very people who betrayed Him. Let us do as Christ has done and mirror His prayer for those who have betrayed us in a myriad of ways, to love them as God loves them:
“Father may they be forgiven, for they do not know what they do.“ Luke 23:24
Praise belongs to you, Creator of all.
We commit our lives to you,
To you, Holy One, who hears our prayers!
To you, we come when we go astray. When our transgressions fill us with guilt. You forgive us as you teach us to forgive.
Dwell in our hearts forever and awaken us to your kindness and love.
Enter into our secret chapel of our heart, as we journey for 40 days toward all the promises of glory.
Always in YOU, Jesus, we pray. Amen.
We look forward to seeing you in the beautiful sanctuary of San Gabriel Presbyterian Church on FEBRUARY 25, 2024 at 6:30 p.m.. For more information, see FEBRUARY NEWS.
Many blessings be yours,
Rev. Mary Sallet
