PEACE WITHIN: FIRST IN-PERSON GATHERING of 2024: JANUARY 28, 6:30 PM
Colossians 3:15 (NIV) Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful.
Peace be with you, Dear Friends of the Georgetown Ecumenical Wholeness Service,
We pray that you had a wonderful Christmas as we celebrated God’s greatest gift in Jesus, and that you are enjoying a beautiful start to this new year of hope and promise!
At this first gathering of the new year, on January 28, we will begin with the topic of “Peace Within”, as part of our 2023-24 season: “Pursuing Peace”. During your prayers this month, I encourage you to reflect on how we find inner peace amidst the chaos of the world around us; how we can take time and open our minds and hearts to the peace of Christ; how we can find peace and keep centered in peace throughout our day-to-day living. This January gathering will offer a moment to continue these musings. We pray that we provide you with an environment of peace, in which you can fully embrace the peace of Christ, in preparation for the days ahead.
Come join us as we begin this new year with the beautiful music and chant from the Taizé Community in France, along with intercessory prayers, personal prayer and anointing, candle-lighting, silence, a message on “Peace Within,” and communion. If you are unable to join us physically, we also will be live-streaming the service on our Facebook and Youtube accounts, and later posting it on our YouTube channel.
As always, please be in prayer about our monthly gatherings: for those who attend, that they be renewed by a sense of calm and purpose, and for those who provide the gatherings, they may also be restored by the Holy Spirit. All are welcome to serve, as inspired, and if you feel guided to provide your gifts, please speak with one of us after the gathering. We would love to serve with you.
