Dear friends of Ecumenical Wholeness,
It’s been only days now since you’ve seen the prayer request from the leadership team of the Georgetown Ecumenical Wholeness Service. As we navigate these uncertain times, we would like to thank you for your devotion to us and especially for your intercessions. Like you, we are faced with challenges in how we must interact socially during COVID-19. For safety reasons, our physical meetings are not possible at the moment. But ministry without a physical space has us all thinking about how to continue serving the Georgetown Area with contemplative prayer offerings.
Here is the good news: we will not leave each other, nor will we leave you. As a fellowship of Christians in Greater Williamson County, we are each called to contribute according to our gifts. God heard us, and has begun to use us right away; inspiring songs, scripture lessons, art, meditative prayers, and letters to you, our community. We are now hard at work producing our offerings on our YouTube and Facebook channels, all of which are linked at https://wholeness-service.org. We will post these offerings as we develop them. God has also answered our prayers for volunteer support by sending one volunteer to begin learning and contributing to our electronic publishing work.
More help is needed. If you have web publishing, social media, or videography skills, and if you want to serve God and your fellow Christians in this meaningful way during the COVID-19 pandemic, please reach out by email to volunteers@wholeness-service.org or contact us via Facebook at https://facebook.com/taizegeorgetown.
Finally, know that we will continue our promise to hear and see you as a congregation. In April and May, we met many of you on Facebook and YouTube when we aired virtual service events at our usual prayer times and dates. During the 2020-2021 season, we still wish to interact with you at the end of every month. The ways we will meet each other are continuing to evolve, so keep an eye on your email and on our news at https://wholeness-service.org, and on Facebook at https://facebook.com/taizegeorgetown. Look for news about our next congregational gathering as early as September.
When will we meet again face to face? God knows. When we do, it will be a day of celebration! We look forward to bringing a special theme of topics and meditative events to share with you at that time. But while we are away from each other in body, stay close to us in God’s Spirit. Take care of yourselves and others, and trust in God, the source of all healing and wholeness.
Your friends in Christ,
